Advice from your podiatrist

Symptom checker

What’s bothering your foot?

This checker gives general guidance and cannot diagnose you. If you are worried, contact the clinic, your GP or NHS 111.

Exercises

Your stretch & strength routines

Last 7 days

Go gently. Mild stretching discomfort is normal. Stop if an exercise causes sharp pain, swelling or pain that is worse the next day, and tell your podiatrist. If you have been given your own exercises, follow those.

Nail photo diary

Take a photo of the same nail every month, in the same light. New, clearer nail grows up from the base slowly: a big toenail can take 12 to 18 months to grow out fully, and sometimes 2 to 3 years for very heavily infected nails.
